New signing Marzouk heads to Italy to join our primavera

Continuing the solid scouting and procurement policies instigated by Marrotta and Paratici, Juve appear to have picked up another young star by signing 17 year old Moroccan forward, Younes Marzouk, from Metz of France.

Younes recently played a leading role in his country’s path to a respectable 4th place after losing on penalties in the third place play-off to Tunisia. En-route to their exit, the striker scored an impressive 4 in 5 games, (also converting his penalty in the shoot-out) earning the award for 2nd best player of the tournament overall.

Compared by some to his countryman Chamack and monstrous Munich striker Lewandovski due to his strong physical approach to the game and eye for goal (clearly that’s where the Chamack comparison ends), the youngster had this to say after securing the move which will see him enter our ranks on a 3 year contract with the option of another 2.

“When Juventus came, I did not need time to think, I accepted immediately…This is a great club that has seen very good players. It will be strange to be away from my family but you must know what you want. I was told that I would start with the youth team and then see, depending on my level, if I can play in A. “

Metz coach Olivier Perrin chipped in with a glowing reference…

“the lad was quickly upgraded it to train with the U19 team and the CFA… he was rough last year but he had a spectacular and rapid development. This is a player who is fast enough, very tough, with great work-rate. Younes loves to put himself about physically, he is very attentive, skillful and receiving as well as delivering the ball “
