Gems From THE MeGA RouGH VOl VIVIVXXXX – flavoured like a sacred pure spirit

Once again I find myself delving into my Past to make more sense of my Now. A method of cogitation which few, myself included, place much value in. For we are all about the on demand at the touch of a key stroke Now. Yet when the Now seems manufactured, when everything we are told seems like tripe, and the few of us marginalised individuals feel alone, wondering where to turn, other than to our faithful fang and claw merchant familiars, it makes sense to head back to find the beacons of substantial light to guide us to the present…Maybe their message was meant for YOU. For ME. And it was drowned out by the cacophony of the brainwashing mega chorus…

Aesop’s classic poetry was a call of awakening which few heeded. As relevant then as it is now. Which leads on smoothly to…Mr Lif’s version of the same. This life spent working so many of our wakeful hours for so little play, so little freedom.

‘the purpose of our life is to serve the economy, they mis-inform our minds to paint a picture of harmony’

I found these poets speaking sense, they inspired me, as their heartbeat found resonance in my own crimson rivers. But I needed to know what more can be done to remedy the dire situation of the capitalist machine gone berserk. And so I sought out the scrappers…

Immortal did more than whine and wail, he explained the reality lying in the shadows of the cages. He gave heart and soul and knowledge to anyone willing to listen…

The streets blossoming daggers as wide open eyes and savage spirit howl to well beyond the projects/…The story telling is dark throughout but moves from personal to global.

‘I want 53m dollars for my calloused hands, like the Bush Administration gave the Taliban’

and…

‘you are better off asking Arial Sharon for compassion’…

such lines are gilded feeling and reality married to wicked beats.

And around the same time appeared Sage…

‘Just live your life better’…

ThisĀ is so much more than a mere welcome incitement to riot…And Sage is equally powerful when focusing on more personal matters. His poetry is one of so very few which always feels from the femurs, the essence, barely if at all refined, just pure heart and soul…all that matters of anything of us.

‘And this is where some go
to avoid the sunrays and the noise of subways
Emerging introverted, unemployed and unshaved
I’ve got multiple personalities and my inner children are runaways’

I find those who bare themselves wide open, chaps like Sage, as beautiful as anything else I could experience.

ANother who meets this ideal. A lullaby (or TwO) for the hopeless and hapless…
