Heart and Mind
Going about your business with your heart on your sleeve,
Is a way of life in which I truly worship and believe.
And I wish there were humans more like this who I could follow
Cos life is precious and shouldn’t ever be hollow.
The most powerful organ in our bodies box of tools,
Is the heart that can turn kings into fools,
Where love and hate are created and destroyed,
Emotions only the strong-minded can withstand or avoid.
The other important organ is the creative mind,
Where always the most activity in a body you can find
Mental processes and inquisition,
The thought creator for our life-mission.
The part us responsible for every cloudy vision,
Something affecting each and every decision.
Could be a description of the mind or the heart,
Cos for some, emotions play the biggest part.
Balance between the two is constantly sought,
Controlled emotions to match clarity of thought.
What must also be considered is the amount of passion,
A raw and powerful follower of a different fashion.
Which can add fuel to a burning fire,
And fan the flames even higher.
The capacity we have for feeling is immense,
But in todays world people seem more concerned about paying their rents,
The mind worrying more than the heart can feel,
Or the main preoccupation been to find the next meal,
The world is a complicated place,
But we can all delve into our base,
Cos we all need to know who we really are,
From the truth about oneself many people are far.
