The Buddhist Approach

By tdf, June 5, 2007

Take the buddhist approach,
The sage says to me,
Else your soul will be confined,
Never able to fly free….

These words,
‘stay calm in the face of hate’
im unable to hear,
when im in a certain state…

cos now and then,
ive met bad folk,
who carry a soul,
that at best I can consider broke,
or just evil,
and unlike my friend, the sage, I see them as beyond retrieval…

my unpurged anger,
doesn’t seem to subside,
instead it seeps into the rivers of hatred,
channels running through my heart a million miles wide…..

hate,
its as powerful as love,
to be overcome by either,
I only need a shove,
And I think boith are ever lasting,
Regardlkess of whether you go to a buddhist monastry and purify yourself by fasting………..

So how do I stay in control?
When these emotions underpin my existance?
Maybe its the skunk.bike and lady,
Which Allow me a little resistance,
Or distraction,
From a more primeval source of reaction…………
When the power of reason becomes a rival faction…..
