Youth mercato UPDATE

The new Nesta or the new Grygera? Only time will tell…20 year old Masi now co-owned with Ternana.

Alberto Masi’s loan to Ternana has morphed into a co-ownership agreement with 2m EUROS heading our way. Its a show of their confidence in his present and future ability and I see this a positive move for the player and for us. The youngster had these words of warmth for the move-
‘” After six months in Terni, positive from every point of view, I was hoping to stay in their colours. I am happy and ready to start again for a new season with enthusiasm. You know, another thing that makes me realize how much I appreciate Ternana is that it has put into the pot quite a bit ‘of money to get me back, which these days happens more and more rarely. I will give my all, as I have always done, to reciprocate with field performance the confidence and trust that the company has shown me on this occasion.. “

It takes more than kidney damage caused by a challenge to keep Liviero (20) out of action for too long. Moving from Perugia to Pisa (Loan).

Serie B newcomers Carpi have finalized the signing of Left Back Matteo Liviero. The deal comes with the right to purchase 50% of his registration at the end of the season. After the ordeal he went through at Perugia last season – (kidney injury suffered during game with Pisa, requiring hospitalization and operation but the spritely lad was back in training within 2 months, regained his starting spot and finished the season strongly, although his side lost their promotion bid against his old enemy Pisa) – it will come as a welcome boost for him to move up a level and hopefully maintain his solid form on the flank for club and country. Joining Liviero will be 23 year old goalkeeper Timothy Nocchi on loan with the right of co-ownership. Timmy made 25 appearances for Juve Stabia last in last season’s second tier. And Carpi are refusing to stop there with our austrian attacking midfielder, Marcel Buchel (22) set to sign on loan over the coming days.

Several other deals could be concluded this week…
Superstar in the making Nicola Leali should finally move to Spezia. Joining him may be primavera CB Magnusson.
Baroni at Lanciano is pushing for Spinazzola and Giandonato although the latter may well remain at Siena (where he spent last season on loan).
Carpi, Ternana and possibly Empoli all continue to show strong interest in Luca Castiglia whom we retrieved from Vicenza last month after his co-own deal there.
