Calciopoli- Clearing the Shit Fog

By tdf, November 24, 2014

Those who believe the stories of Juve staff handing over the keys to Maseratis to referees, Moggi locking officials in the club quarters or bribing them, are quite possibly the same goons who believe Saddam had WMD, or that Osama Bin Laden blew up the twin towers, or that Assad invited UN chemical weapons inspectors into Damascus, then the very next day launched a horrific chemical weapons attack on his own people in Damascus.

One of the true horrors of humanity is the natural proclivity to be spoon-fed bullshit. It is the diet of choice of the Many; for those who don’t wish for, or lack the capacity – for individual thought, opinion and character.

The allegations against Giraudo and Moggi were three fold-

1.GEA player agency control
2. International SIM cards
3.Match Fixing/Attempted Match fixing

They were all proven to be unfounded by the FIGC court. What was found though was evidence of a relationship between Bergamo and Moggi/Giraudo. As in..they spoke and knew each other. Some calls were used as evidence of this. Importantly NO CALLS WERE FOUND TO HAVE SHOWN ANY ATTEMPT TO INFLUENCE REFEREE DESIGNATIONS OR RESULTS. This should be important for anyone interested in justice.

The ‘crimes’ proven should have resulted in a fine for Juventus. And also for other clubs found ‘guilty’ of similar offences. However…Step in Mr Rossi, Moratti’s good pal from Inter and TIM

The newly appointed FIGC Commissioner Guido Rossi (former Telecom Italia and Inter Vice President) decided to make “contacting a referee designator” an infraction (it was not against any rule prior to that) and pool all the phone calls together and form a new infraction that would justify punishing the team as though they had attempted match fixing without there being any conversations to support match fixing or favour requests from the designator.

Does this make sense to you? The rules stated that the ‘crimes’ Juve committed deserved a fine. The Inter vice-president and TIM CEO (Moratti’s company) becomes FIGC Commissioner, creates a new sentence just for Juventus, then awards the titles to Inter.

Now the mist is starting to clear…

Whilst Giraudo chose to fast-track his appeal in the hope of a swift acquittal and to emerge from the horrorshow, and failed, due to the usage of old, outdated evidence…Moggi decided to go it alone and defend himself. It wasn’t long before he had unearthed the small matter of 171000 phone calls pertaining the calciopoli scandal which were taken by a police wire tap. When questioned in court, the officer in charge of the wire tap Attilio Auricchio explained…”I don’t remember…maybe something was missed.”. Maybe something was missed eh? 171,000 phone calls.

Only those calls were used in the trial, which made Juve and Milan look suspicious, or worse. All calls which proved the innocence of Milan and Juve, and which more than hinted at the wrongdoing of Inter were conveniently ‘missed’ during the trial.

Among these calls can be found-
Moratti talking to Bergamo about the selection of a referee for a coppa italia match.
Moratti organizing to meet a referee in person to have a discussion.

Moratti organizing to meet a referee in person to have a discussion.
Facchetti organizing referees with designators
Galliani organizing referees with designators

Plenty more of such calls, thousands even.

Firstly…Moggi and Giraudo had no special relationship.
Secondly…Moratti and Faccheti can be proven to have made very clear attempts to influence matches via their discussions with referee designators.
thirdly…the wonderful statute of limitations protects the guilty parties.

Now if you still see the case as simplistically as ‘they were all guilty’ you are at least half spastic, perhaps more, or simply blind.

The connections between Moratti, Rossi, Facchetti, Tronchetti and the FIGC and other Moratti interests are too obvious to simply cast aside as of on consequence.

It is as believable as the conviction of Conte for attempted match fixing. The evidence there boiled down to the court’s interesting decison to deem credible testimony the words of a player caught red-handed fixing matches, offered a reduction in his sentence if he finger a big fish…and to deem, the testimony of 24 other players, never suspected or caught fixing games, as non-admissible. Does that make any sense?

A squad of 25 players. 24 of them could of been taking a piss at the same time…just so happens that the 24 who could have been having a piss at the same time, are the players present at the alleged scene of the crime and the court chose to instead deem a proven liar, cheat, match fixer, desperate to have his sentence reduced, as the only credible witness, and on his testimony convicted Conte. A manager who went on to win the panchina d’oro the same season. Just goes to show what the other managers thought of the court’s decision eh!

Still…continue to believe what you wish and avoid the facts. They make harsh reading for Interisti. And others.

The facts however, speak for themselves.

Just one of thousands of such conversations…

Facchetti: Look, I saw the score that we have had with Bertini. Four wins, four draws and four defeats.

Bergamo: Damn, ok, lets do five, four, four. But wins.

Facchetti: But tell him that its important tomorrow. He has had 12 games, all four, four, four.

Bergamo: He will move one, the one that starts with V. I still have to speak with him, but he is intelligent, and he knows how things should go. Better late than never. Listen Giacinto, we consider Sunday’s game to be a tranquil one. And we will put a debutant ref in the grid. Is that ok for you?

Facchetti: Yes ok, if you want to. It’s ok…

Bergamo: I wanted to tell, please don’t ever think about a lack of attention from my part.

Facchetti: On Sunday a debutant ref is fine for me.

Bergamo: A debutant, there is Mazzoleni.

Facchetti: Mazzoleni is from Bergamo… there is also his brother.

Bergamo: Yes, he is good and young. He has good numbers and has good promise.

Facchetti: No problem.

Bergamo: Listen, can you get me some tickets for Sunday for a client.

Facchetti: No problem, call me Friday or Saturday. Call me and…

Bergamo: Good luck.

Facchetti: Please… tell him.

Bergamo: Consider it done.

Unfortunately for Juventus and for anyone seeking justice in the matter, by the time these thousands of calls clearly suggesting provable match-fixing were found and shared with the court, they waited and waited and waited, then said ‘Sorry, due to the expiry of the statute of limitations, this evidence cannot be considered’…
