In terms of savings through player departures this Summer…

Mirko, Quagliarella, Martinez, Padoin, Ziegler, Marrone, Pepe, Motta, Peluso, De Ceglie, Rubinho would shave off a combined 11.8m.

Were we to also dispense with the services of Giovinco that would make the total 14.6m.

If Pogba stays, which I am close to certain he will, he is one of the players certain to receive a wage increase.

Pogba 1 to 3m

Vidal 3.5 to 4.5m

Asamoah 1.4 to 2.5m

Caceres 1.7 to 2.5m

Which comes to…4.8m

Then we must factor in wage reductions. Pirlo will probably move from 3.5 to 2m. Possibly Storari 1.5 to 1.2m. Which adds 1.8m.

Savings – 14.6 at best including Giovinco leaving.

Increases – 4.8

Reductions – 1.8m

11.6m (with Giovinco staying, who I cannot imagine will receive a wage increase, the figure is 8.8m.)

If we are to sign a star player, let’s say Sanchez, he is presently on somewhere between 4 and 5 million per season, which would take a huge chunk from our budget to accommodate.

However, if the set of players I used as a likely example were to be sold, they would bring in…(I have leaned towards the lower amounts expected)

Mirko – 8m

Quagliarella – 7m

Martinez – 500k

Padoin – 4m

Ziegler – 3m

Marrone – 3m

Motta – 2m

Peluso – 1.5m

De Ceglie – 3m

Rubinho – 500k

Other co-ownerships – 3m

Giovinco – 7m

Which brings, at best, with Seba included…42m.

Adding everything together, we are left at the original 25m kitty, with wage changes and departures taken into account as…

8.8 + 35 = 43.8m if Seba stays.

11.6 + 42 = 53.6m if Seba leaves.
